Summer! Soccer! Crashes!

Dear SoundRoots readers:

Just wanted to let you know I'm doing an emergency hardware upgrade over the next week or so and I may be away for a bit. Yes, it's time to replace the ol' Mac. I'll make every effort not to miss posting Monday's mp3 and more World Cup updates, but my harddrive is getting quirky, so no guarantees until the new machine is in place and formatted.

Of course, if you love this blog, enjoy the music, and want to help out with a donation, you're warmly invited to contribute via PayPal by clicking our Tip Jar over to the right of the page.

Or if you're PayPal-phobic, get in touch and we'll make arrangements for your donation by check/cash/dark chocolate.

As I expected, it was Germany and Argentina winning today and setting up what could be one of the best games of the Cup next Friday morning. Before that, we get to see if the Soccerroos can get past Italy, if England can muster some gumption against Ecuador, and whether Ghana has a ghost of a chance against Brazil, among other things. Oh, and I suspect that unlike the teams Germany has faced so far, Argentina will have the keys to unlock the German defense, and will triumph over the burly Europeans.

So until my return, good readers, here's another World Cup-related tune for your enjoyment.

[mp3] Youssou N'Dour: "Do You Mind If I Play?"
from the 1998 album Music Of The World Cup - Allez! Ola! Olé!
